Like Water For Chocolate — Like Hell For Exams

It has been a while since I read a good book. Whenever I go home to Laguna, I read My Sister’s Keeper bit by bit — I’m not even halfway to finishing it. 

Because of exams every week and probsets due every now and then, i feel like i don’t have enough time to sit down, relax and read. Well, i do read books. Textbooks. Whenever I go to National Bookstore i feel depressed because of two things:

1. There are a lot of books but I don’t have the budget to buy one

2. Whenever I have the extra money, I know i don’t have the time to read the book and it will only gather dust, waiting for me to tear off the plastic cover and start reading it.

I’m done with my hell weeks (take note of the plural form). My exams continued on for three weeks and along with the articles that are due daily, I had no extra time to read books. 

To motivate myself and for me to have something to look forward to after exams, I bought a new book. Like Water For Chocolate. I’ve started reading it but i forgot to bring the book to my trip to Naga, so I guess I’ll finish it when I get home. In one sitting, i was able to finish half of the book already. The novel is interesting, especially how the author related the monthly recipes to Tita’s life. 

The book is about love and how tragic it can be sometimes. Howell, will still see what happens in the end. =)
