Because I’m An Addict

I bought new pens! Yes — new pens! In addition to the 50+ colorful pens that I have right now, I bought the pens out of impulse and aside from that, I also bought a pen for my dad for his 44^th birthday. He’s currently taking up law so I guess buying him a fountain pen is just perfect. I even had his name engraved on it to make it more personalized.

I really wanted to buy the more elegant one but since I only have a limited budget for his present, I settled on the not-so-expensive Parker fountain pen that I saw in National Bookstore this afternoon.

Anyway, I think the reason for my too much liking on colorful pens is because of the pens I lost back then. Well you see, I wasn’t able to keep a pen back in high school. One day I’ll buy a new gel pen, the next day I would misplace it somewhere, leaving me pen-less and penny-less.

So I guess a pen is nothing compared to an allergy relief, eh?

The Shrek Fairytale

I know. I know. Shrek premiered weeks ago and I am such a loser for watching the movie only now. Blame it on my busy schedule and delayed payout. Anyway… Well, that was touching. It’s a typical fairytale only that, the protagonists were ogres.

The funny tale of two ogres falling in love with each other taught me that sometimes, we do not get contented with what we have and ask for more. We do not see that we already possess all the finest riches this world can offer us — friends, family, love, but instead of being happy and appreciating the blessings in our lives, we take it all for granted and ask for more. We do not need Rumpelstilskin to grant our wishes rather, we should just be happy with what we have now. We always think of what would happen if only that one incident in our lives did not happen, instead of thinking what we would have lost if we missed that one single moment we could never have again.

You know the line, ‘don’t it always seem to go, that you don’t know what you’ve got ‘til its gone’? Its one helluvah fact that we still do not fully understand.

I’ll keep this blog post short because now i know that contentment is the key to happiness. Don’t you ever forget that. =)

I’m A Coffee Addict ergo, I’m A Drug Addict

   With all the sleepless nights there are in preparing for exams and reports, i have been caffeine dependent since i started College in UP. I had to rely on coffee to keep me up in the wee hours of the morning when studying for an exam or cramming a report. Bacchus (an energy drink) has always been a constant companion of mine during hell weeks. It kept me up while answering exams and helped me get through days where I walked the hallways of the College of Engineering like a zombie — unresponsive and lutang.

On Wedding Bells And Wedding Vows

Weddings have always been one of the happiest events yet, the laughter and smiles always come with tears and goodbyes. It is another chapter in everyone’s lives where parents will bid farewell to their babies, bachelors saying goodbye to their wild and carefree lives and, women preparing their selves to the challenge marriage brings.

It takes a lot of planning to make the celebration memorable and a perfect ‘Kodak Moment’. The venue, priest, wedding invitations and caterer should be confirmed months before the wedding date. But, the stress from planning is eventually rewarded with the woman/man of your dreams promising to stay with you in sickness or in health, for richer or poorer, and til’ death do you apart. As soon as the ‘I Dos’ are exchanged, there is no turning back.

Anyway, my wedding vows won’t happen anytime soon. LOL. I’m too you for that kind of shiz and besides, I still have a lot of challenges to conquer for my dreams to come true.

Let Me Rant… Just This Once

From now on:

• i’ll stop asking on your whereabouts
• ill stop asking on what you’re up to
• ill stop worrying
• ill wait for you to do the first move on updating me if you’re okay or what

Because the reason that Im your girlfriend but i still don’t have the right to know at least where you are is enough to freakin’ make me mad. I may be the most patient and understanding girlfriend you could ever ask for but this is something that is way beyond my tolerance level because the bullshit that YOU ARE ALL up to is f*cking stupid and just plain childish.

YOU knowing the fact that i won’t tell on anybody whatever you tell me during this kind of situation but still choosing to leave me in the dark is one thing i cannot let go.

FINE. You asked for this. From now on, until THIS ends, I won’t text you until you text me and I won’t ask to see you until you want me too. Get it?

Father’s Day

I think my dad loved the gift I gave him last Father’s day. I was actually thinking of giving him a new Polo or something, but knowing my dad and his keen eye in fashion (he’s not gay or anything, he’s just particular on the brands, design and aesthetics), he might not like whatever I’ll give him. So instead of taking the risk, I bought a book on FIlipino artists and the history of the Philippine Art in Vargas Museum last week. I wanted to buy the book on the works of H.R Ocampo or Caesar Buenaventure but since it is waaaaay out of my budget (the books were 3,000 effin’ pesos!), i just settled with the Pananaw instead. 

Papa’s reaction when he opened his gift was, ‘Mahal nito ah?’. LOL. If only my payout came earlier, I could have bought him something nicer. Oh well. His birthday’s coming up in 2 weeks naman and this time, I’m planning to give him a Parker Pen with his name engraved on it since he already started taking up Law.

(anyway, gadgets for father’s day would have been nice too but with my limited budget? Nah. Next time!)

FIFA World Cup

The 2010 FIFA Worldcup officially started yesterday. South Africa almost ended their first game with Mexico with glory, but had to settle for a draw instead. 

I wasn’t able to watch the game last night because the traffic was horrible and i got home at around 11pm already. I’m not really a football fan, but the sport has started to catch my interest lately. Watching it live is incomparable with catching it on TV because there. you can interact with other fans, cheering for your team. 

I want to try the sport but I think I am too old to learn how to play it. Allen’s been playing the sport for almost all his life now and of course, the love for football is running in his veins.

Classes in Palma Hall suspended

Its only the third day of classes but classes in Palma Hall were already suspended due to a fire incident that occured last night. 

The fire engulfed the Chemistry Pavilion and other parts of AS were also affected. The reason for the incident? Faulty electrical wirings. According to news reports, a student might have left one of the equipment plugged in (and since we know that the building is already deteriorating) and it might have caused sparks which ignited the combustible chemicals inside the building. The fire started at around 11pm and were put out at around 1:10 in the morning.  No one was hurt, btw.

This is a sad news that greeted me this moning and when I got to school for my 8am class, AS was locked and students were hanging out at the steps. Sad. i was getting fond of the IC pa naman (KIDDING!).

Sem Starter

For those of you who did not know, UP Diliman officially started the 2010-2011 school year yesterday. It’s the second day of classes still, i only have 16 units in which one subject is not credited. I had no choice but to enroll in a Russian10 class just so I will not have an underload status if ever i don’t get eee3. 

I hate my schedule. I don’t have much break and for someone who has only 16 units, that is onehelluvah torture. My classes start at 8 in the morning and end at 4 in the afternoon. FML. This sem sucks. 

Anyway, i have made a partial checklist on what i plan to accomplish this sem:

• learn Russian (harhar)
• Get good grades and be a US or CS (but since i have ES12, that seems impossible)
• beg my dad to buy me a car (and i din’t want cheap auto insurance btw haha *choosy much)
• buy a new digi cam
• buy a new laptop
• get freelance writing jobs (i needz the moolah)

And i think that’s about it for now. I can’t really think of anything right now since i need to go to class in 30 minutes and its only the 2nd day of classes.

on being broke

DISADVANTAGES OF BEING BROKE:

• all i can do in the mall is window shopping
• i still don’t have money to buy my dad a gift for Father’s day (which i thought was this sunday but thank God, its on the 20th)
• ^BTW, i don’t know why i’m thinkingof buying my dad a new toy if he can afford it himself :l
• i can’t go food tripping
• I want to buy a new book, but i can’t
• The want and need to travel, but no money to spend
• You may find this weird, but i also check out furniture (especially modern dining tables) and pick out those i want to put in my own house (when I have na)

And the only perk in having no money that i could think of is: FORCING MYSELF TO GO ON A DIET because i can’t afford to buy whatever i want to eat. FML.

Late Payment

This is one of those few times where i wish i have my own credit card so that spending will not be a problem.

I hate it when payment for my articles are delayed. I don’t have extra cash, so i have nothing to spend to buy my dad a gift for father’s day. I emailed my employers already, but none of them are responding. Payout was supposed to be last june 5 but my employer said they were busy this week so she’ll send me the money next week. 

Late paymentmeans i have to limit my spending and food trips. 

It can also mean drooling over a pair of shoes i know i can’t afford or daydreaming that i’m wearing the cute top I saw while i was window shopping. *sigh*

Holy Matrimony!!!

Diamond engagement rings are symbols for the start of a never ending love story. 

Holy matrimony is a religious sacrament which binds two people who wants to share their lives together. Every girl wants their wedding to be the fairy tale they have always wanted. White gown, the perfect boquet of roses in  their hands, parents crying, reception — everything is perfect.

Then comes children. Having a stable job is important so that you could provide your family  with what they need. Monthly bills that you have to pay for.

Bickering. Quarreling. Will be a common sight. Doors banging and people shouting at each other and fighting over petty things. 

Cold war. Couples will go on with their daily lives acting like nothing happened but deep inside, hearts burst because of too much hatred and anger.

Then comes divorce papers. A simple signature can end everything.

See? Who said marriage is easy?

Yes, you. If you hate me so much, introduce yourself so we could settle our dispute in a nice and as much as possible, clean manner. I know you’re having a hard time coming up with nasty remarks to level with my sarcastic yet witty response just so you could get into my nerves. I don’t know how many dictionaries/thesaurus you are using, how many paper cuts you got nor how many searches you’ve done with Google but all I know is, let’s quit this child play and settle this face to face.

Finding Comfort In Chicken McNuggets

 Current Addiction:

Chicken McNuggets.

I’ve been surviving on this meal for four days straight, having it for lunch and dinner. Along with fries and sundae, it gives me the energy that I need to go from building to building during the enrollment process. I still have 12.0 units in my form 5A and I still need to prerog for Geol 11.1 and EEE3. Professors are only accepting graduating students for prerog, so I am left with no choice but to beg (and if required, cry) just so I could get their slots. I don’t have any other floating subjects aside from Geol40 (which I can’t take up this sem due to conflict in schedule) and ES15 (that requires ES12 which I am currently taking up this sem). Yes. The pain of being delayed.

Formspring Boo-Boos

We all have our haters. These people are those who have nothing much to do with their lives, and find amusement in mockign and asking stupid questions. 

They feel like they our superior over the others and make theirselves believe that they actually look and feel good when in fact, they are full of insecurities and bitterness. 

I made a list of possible reasons why some people/a person are/is asking me stupid questions in my formspring account: 

• they’re  bored and their brains are the size of a peanut so they are not capable of asking questions that make sense
• (referring to the bf issue and telling me that we look like skulls) this male/female is bitter because he/she wasn’t able to have me/allen as his/her gf/bf. So to make himself/herself feel good about himself/herself, he/she seriously thinks that insulting is teh best way out for the hurt feelings he/she is having right now

  I’ve been dying to  get my hands on an xbox 360!

What makest the seventh generation video console great? Weeeelll.. yo ucan compete with other players on the world wide web with its Xbox Live service, download multiple arcade games, games demos, trailers, TV shows, music and movies while you’re at it, and with its Windows Media Center multimedia capabilities, it sure is one helluvah entertainment system.

Too bad i can’t afford something like this. Boo. it would be fun to invite friends over for a game or two of Prince of Persia.

Prenatal vitamins and what it can do
