Weighing Scales and BMI
Tuesday, March 30, 2010
Weighing scales are now becoming a person’s best friend when it comes to health check. Everyone is always in constant watch of the weight that they are losing or gaining.
Body Mass Index (BMI) is an indication used by most people to estimate the amount of fat in their bodies. A range of 18.25-24.9 is a healthy range while anything higher or lower range means a person is overweight or underweight respectively. The importance of knowing one’s BMI is important to determine whether the person is in a good range for optimal wellbeing or not.
The amount of fat in the body is influenced by the lifestyle of the person. The routine of a college student revolves around academics, sports, stress and other factors involved in the life of the student. Engineering students in particular have to be well rounded because of the time demanded in studying courses such as Engineering Science subjects along with their majors.
And with all the stress governing in my college life right now, its still a wonder how I managed to maintain a healthy BMI and continue with my lifestyle without compensating my health.
