NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION:
The Champions =)
Finally! After 2 months of stressful practices and trainings; countless nights of thinking how incompetent I am at times; crying out of frustration for not getting the steps; and FINALLY! After 5 years of being part of IE Club’s Indakan Team, we were finally able to beat KEM and beat their 9 years-straight win!
Although I must admit, it wasn’t my best performance of all. The floor was slippery, and I forgot some steps during the routine itself. I was bloated (unfortunately for me, I had my period that day) and I was wearing a mid-rib blouse, and my shorts kept on slipping off while I was dancing. So I cried after our dance and felt like I ruined the routine. But we actually got positive feedbacks from the judges and the audience.
The other groups’ routines actually bored me and I was really excited for what KEM’s kept in store for us. During their dance (especially during the Reflection part), I was on the edge on my seat and was on the verge of tears for I really felt that they were going to beat us — again. But came the announcement of winners and they called KEM for 2nd place, I was already jumping in place for finally, someone was able to snatch KEM’s title away from them! And whey they announced IE Club as the champion for this year’s Indakan, I was jumping up and down out of joy and the feeling was something I wouldn’t exchange for a kilogram of Kiamoy*.
INDAKAN DAY
Finally! I can retire from dancing. I can finally retire from the countless sleepless nights, the exhaustion form hours and hours of training, and the pressure of keeping in mind that we have to win this competition. But who knows, maybe I’d still dance ‘til my last Engineering Week. Winning isn’t the only thing that mattered to the team; the friendship and the bond that formed between us. The bickering and sometimes ‘personalan’ that happened; the pikunan moments… It all made us stronger and made us strive more to win.
Indakan 2010? Here I come!!!! =D
