That is why there are companies that offer an online backup service for those people who are afraid to lose these files. These services will run automated or manually for your computer’s hard drive so that if for any reason your files are corrupted or lost, they can easily be recovered.

i just lost 8 years worth of hard work and memories just a month ago because i kept putting off back-upping my hard disk for a long time, and it was really a terrible ordeal.
now i am scouring the web for any info regarding data recovery in the hopes of accessing even just a fraction of my files. no luck so far.
