Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that is caused by exposure to asbestos. People who work in places where they inhale asbestos particles or have been exposed in asbestos dust and particles. Malignant cells develop in the mesothelium, a protective lining that covers most of the internal organs. It’s most common site is along the lungs; but unlike lung cancer, mesothelioma and smoking have no association, but smoking can greatly increase the risk of acquiring mesothelioma.
