Mesothelioma Treatments

Thursday, May 14, 2009

After decades of research and medical studies in mesothelioma treatments, there is still no cure for the disease and the historical methods for controlling its progressiom has not been effective.

The traditional methods for curing mesathelioma are the following:

  1. SURGERY

This involves the physical removal of the tumor. The patient’s physician will decide which nature of operation will be most effective depending based on his or her overall strategy in the treatment of the tumor.

  1. CHEMOTHERAPY

Chemotherapy uses drugs and other chemical agents to eliminate the cancer cells.

  1. RADIATION THERAPY

Uses ionizing radiation to destroy cancer cells and shrink tumors. For mesothelioma treatments, radiation can be used as part of a multimodal treatment protocol or it can be used in a palliative manner to reduce the pain associated with the disease.

Horoscope for today

May 13, 2009

Your enthusiasm is refreshing and contagious but keep it under control. Not everyone will be inspired by your seemingly limitless energy. It could lead to some resentment being felt towards you.

Sweet thought

NICE THOUGHT:

When a man and a woman have feelings for each other, it does not necessarily mean that they need to have a formal relationship as bf and gf…

While both of you are still busy with your personal life, it’s possible that you could make each other as an inspiration. NO COMMITMENT. Just a ROMANTIC BOND… Isn’t it much sweeter and nicer when you both accomplish everything that you want in life and yet, you still end up TOGETHER.

7 kls

One important lesson I learned: NEVER TELL PEOPLE YOUR TRUE WEIGHT

BERN: Batch! Nag gain ako ng weight. Huhuhu.
CESS: Bakit? Gaano ka na kabigat ngayon?
BERN: __ kls na ko.
CESS: Okay lang yan. Proportional naman sa height mo.
BERN: Batch. Hindi! 7kilos ang gnain kong weight simula January.
CESS: Ano ba yan Batch! Mag- diet ka na nga.

Yehess. Thanks sa support batch ha. Hahaha.

7 kilos. 15.4 lbs in 4 months?! Now how did that happen??!
I KNOW! Too much eating and NO EXERCISE.

Haaaay… Motivate me to lose weight, please.

I’m thinking of using weight loss pills to lose weight. Do you think the best diet pills available in the market would work on me?

Sinigang Blues

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

PAPA: Mga anak, may sakit mama niyo.
BERN: what the???
ATE & THIRD: *gasp*

Sinigang, fried rice at pnritong isda.
MAMA: hmmm.

Horrorscope :))

Saturday, May 9:

Warning: Things may not work out exactly as planned now, including in the romantic realm. If you can wrap your mind around this, though, and not stress out, you’ll be in an excellent position to make the most of it.

It’s called FAITH :)

Was it by chance? A mere coincidence?

I have been praying and wishing for something for almost a week now. While I was praying in the adoration chapel of the Sto. Sepulcro parish church, I asked the Virgin Mary to give me a sign if He would grant me my wish. I asked for red roses (sabi ko sakin, or kanino mang close sakin ibibigay) for a ‘positive result’, and white roses if what I was asking for wasn’t meant for me.

My father and I went back to the car after praying and visiting Lolo Uweng. While walking, our conversation went like this:

PAPA: Alam ko na reregalo natin kay mama. (kasi wala pa siyang gift para sa Mother’s day)

AKO: ano yun?

PAPA: Bigyan na lang natin siya ng roses. Bigyan ko siya ng bouquet tas kayong tatlo bigyan niyo siya ng tig-isang rose.

AKO: Anong kulay ibibigay natin? (kasi alam kong lagging white roses ang binibigay niya kay mama pag mother’s day… Red pag valentine’s day.)

PAPA: Siyempre red.

I was stunned.

I was happy.

This is the sign that I’ve been asking for.

Serendipity? Chance? Coincidence?

No. It’s what you call FAITH. :)

Nuphedra Ingredients

Friday, May 8, 2009

Nuphedra is a fat burner and a weight loss supplement that has been helping people lose weight since 1996.

INGREDIENTS:

GREEN TEA – research has confirmed that green tea can help lose weight through multiple     pathways. It has been proven to be more effective than prescription weight loss supplements, without the negative side effects.

OOLONG TEA - Oolong tea is also an excellent source of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. The antioxidants in oolong tea scavenge the body for free radicals - molecules that can damage muscle tissue, hinder immune system function and more - and prevent oxidative stress.

THERMODIAMINE - Thermodiamine is a patented and clincially-proven form of evodiamine. According to Bodybuilding.com, evodiamine is “one of the biggest breakthroughs in thermogenesis to date”. Evodiamine stimulates the vanilloids to reduce the uptake of fat and increase the natural rate of burning fat. Recent scientific studies have backed up this traditional knowledge. Mammals fed a high-fat diet plus evodiamine actually lose, rather than gain weight. Thermodiamine is a very mild thermogenic that leads to an increase in the calories and fat that are burned for energy.

Acne problems

I really didn’t have any problems with having flawless skin until I had chicken pox back in 4th year high school. I had to miss school for more than a week, miss the retreat, and miss a lot of exams. And aside from that, I was itching all over and had painful blisters on my body.

I got well eventually, but the marks stayed for quite some time. Acne also became a problem. I tried to find the best acne treatments out there in the market but found them too expensive and too time consuming. I was too lazy to alot at least an hour for skin care regimen.

Anyhoo. My acne problems lessened and vanished after a few years. :D

Be kind to animals

Wednesday, May 6, 2009

I promised that I would never skip class again.

Well. I skipped my bio class this afternoon — for a good reason naman eh. I had to study for my other subject, I wasn’t feeling well and aside from those reasons, I was avoiding somebody in particular that I don’t feel like seeing or talking to today. I know it’s a flimsy and invalid excuse, but can you blame me??

Anyway… I did make use of the extra to hours I have wisely. I slept and prepared my brain for a whole evening of study and research for the term paper my professor in bio asked us to do.

I can’t afford missing another meeting in any of my classes. Two weeks until summer classes end. Siguro naman I can tolerate the torture of seeing him (and cursing him) and totally ignore him for the remaining two weeks. He asked me to treat him kindly until summer classes’ end. Fine. I can do that. I’ll ignore him na lang.

*****Be kind to animals. But when it bites, kick it in the ass.

no puns intended :)

Baka in the process, masira mo pa pakpak niya.

Kaya dapat, bilisan mo mag-isip at magdesisyon. Huwag mong antayin na may iba pang makakuha sa kaniya.

Grand Welcome for Pacquiao??

Grand welcome awaits Pacquiao
By Marvin Sy Updated May 05, 2009 12:00 AM

Manny Pacquiao celebrates with the belt after beating British boxer Ricky Hatton by TKO in the second round of their junior welterweight title boxing match at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. AP

MANILA, Philippines – A ticker tape parade in the city of Manila, a grand welcome in Mindanao and a possible unprecedented military promotion await newly crowned International Boxing Organization (IBO) junior welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao upon his return to the country on Friday.

Pacquiao’s hometown of General Santos City is also busy preparing a reception upon his arrival there despite his having switched his place of origin to Sarangani province.

The city of Manila, scene of countless ticker tape parades in Pacquiao’s previous winning campaigns, is again expected to play a major role in the Filipino boxing icon’s welcome celebration.

President Arroyo, speaking before members of the Filipino community in Damascus, Syria, had announced that she would declare a national day of celebration for Pacquiao’s victory.

“I join the entire nation in jubilation and in giving thanks to God for the spectacular second-round knockout victory of Manny over Ricky ‘The Hitman’ Hatton in Las Vegas, Nevada,” the President said.

Mrs. Arroyo said Pacquiao’s victory “should inspire all of us Filipinos to have resiliency and dedication to triumph against all odds.”

Deputy presidential spokesperson Lorelei Fajardo said the details of the day of celebration were still being finalized and would most likely be announced tomorrow along with the presidential proclamation for this purpose.

She said the appointments office of Malacañang is working out the details.

From Gensan to Sarangani

Fans all over the Soccsksargen region exploded into cheers after Pacquiao devastated Ricky Hatton with a jarring left hook to the jaw that sent the latter flat on his back on the canvas during their Sunday match.

But ring announcer Michael Buffer’s introduction of the Filipino boxing hero as “the man from Sarangani, Philippines” and no longer General Santos City, the way he was always addressed in his previous fights, had raised some eyebrows.

“We will still prepare a grand welcome when Manny comes home,” said General Santos City Mayor Pedro Acharon, who admitted he was taken aback by the introduction.

“We were really hurt at first when we heard Sarangani province. But at the end of the day, we were really happy with his winning the bout. And Manny is still Filipino no matter where he lives,” he said.

But Pacquiao’s homecoming celebration would be bigger this time, since it would be a joint effort with those in Sarangani province.

“I already talked with Sarangani officials and we planned on coming up with a joint celebration,” the mayor said, adding that he respected Pacquiao’s decision to change residence to Sarangani because of his political plans.

Top 6 diet pills

Monday, May 4, 2009

Almost everyone’s relying on diet pills for faster weight loss nowadays. Different diet pills are available in the market and consumers really can’t make the intelligent decision of choosing which product to purchase. The following are the 6 top diet pills that are effective.

  1. Xenical

It is a prescription only drug for the long-term treatment of obesity. It is medically proven effective and safe with only mild side effects for most patients who don’t stick to their recommended diet.

  1. Proactol

Unlike Xenical, Proactol is a non-prescription drug. Although it is only new to the market, it is proven more effective than the over Xenical. The main ingredient is the patented fibre complex made from Opuntia ficus-indica cactus, which consists of a non-soluble fibre and a soluble fibre. Fats are impossible to be absorbed by the body due to the way the soluble fibre binds fats with a fluid gel.

  1. Ephedra

Ephedra is a stimulant that suppresses the appetite and has been on the list of the FDA warnings since its introduction in 1990. It is composed of amphetamine-like compounds which affects the nervous system. Side effects include insomnia and depression, and causes irregular and rapid heart contractions.

  1. Phentermine

It also works as an appetite suppressant and is available over the internet in different strengths and dosages. It works by sending messages to the central nervous system and increases the adrenaline of the person. Side effects include blurred vision, insomnia, rapid heart beats and chest pain that worsen over time.

  1. Conjugated Linoleic acid

CLA is the active ingredient in most diet pills. It is a fatty acid produced in the gut of a number of mammals, plants and possibly in humans too. It works to transport, store and metabolize fats effectively. CLA has been tested on animals and even on few humans. Different effects were observed. Some did lose weight, and others saw little or no change in their weight at all.

  1. Chitosan

It is a fiber found in the skeletons of some marine animals. Sellers claim that it contains a fat-blocking ability and will help lose weight, but there is only very little evidence to support this conclusion.
