My tito promised my younger brother a home entertainment system to be set-up in his room if he will pass the UPCAT (University of the Philippines College Admission Test). My father also promised us that he would get us an apartment if ever my brother gets accepted in UP Diliman. While anxiously waiting the test results, I started planning how everything will be arranged in the new apartment: I would have my own room, and the home entertainment system would be set up in the sala. We would watch in a big-screen LCD TV in a silver TV stand, speakers and comfortable chairs. I could hold house parties and inuman, group-study session, overnights and bonding sessions with my girlfriends…

The results are out; my brother passed but got accepted in UPLB instead. Howell… Goodbye big TV. Goodbye own room.
