A work holding device is something used to secure a work piece of a machine. It comes in different types, ranging from a simple clamp screwed into place of a machining table, to a complex fixture that is built and designed for particular parts. It may also include vises and chucks, allowing the part of the machine to be rotated and reach various parts without having to change its position while in use.
