I have been relying on caffeine lately to keep me up during the long hours of studying and cramming for exams and papers. I’ve spent a big part of my allowance for the ridiculously expensive coffee and blended drinks in coffee shops. The caffeine helps me stay up in the wee hours of the morning but causes palpitation in my part. I resolved to avoid drinking coffee or any other caffeinated drinks until the next time i really need it the most.
I surfed the net for alternatives and brands that are worth trying. Illy is a brand of coffee produced in italy. They produce only one blend in three roasts: normail, dark roast or decaffeinated. The blend is packaged as beans, pre-ground coffee or ESE pods. The beans are carefully selected from ARABICA beans which have low caffeine content than ROBUSTA beans. Their pressurization technique ensures that the rich taste of the beans will be preserved.
I found my old diary recently and found this entry funny. Its about falling, stupidity and the realization that i can still pick myself up after a nasty fall.

I found myself praying and asking God to take away my ability to love other people and spare me from the emotional pain that I’m going through right now. I don’t deserve to get hurt like this. I have given and did everything I could, the best way I can, just to show HIM how much I love HIM.
I am still standing on the same ground, while he has learned to fly and let go. LIFE IS SO UNFAIR. I should be relieved that he’s already out of my life. I should be the one giving a sigh of relief because I’m finally free from the clutches of an INGRATE WHINER, who gets MAD if he DOESN’T GET WHAT HE WANTS. But instead of being happy, I find his absence a burden. The thought of him is enough to break my heart all over again. Thinking of the past makes me cry before going to sleep, and the memory of him haunts me in my dreams.
2 months. That should be enough for me to move on. My father told me that it is even possible to move on 24 hours after the breakup; you should just put your mind and heart to it.
I have learned my lesson. It’s easier to let go than to hold on to somebody who can’t even realize your worth. I am a PRICELESS and FRAGILE treasure that should be taken care off. I am a woman who deserves respect and shouldn’t be yelled at for small mistakes and petty reasons. Recently, I realized that we are better off as friends. He’s BETTER AS A FRIEND THAN AS A LOVER. He doesn’t know how to value people who are willing to take care of him and tolerate his childish attitudes.
Love really does make you blind. As long as you’re in love with somebody, you tend to disregard his imperfections and even blame yourself for everything that goes wrong between you and that person. It’s stupid to love a person who doesn’t give back the love (or even half of it) that you give him. It’s dumb to sacrifice your happiness just to see him HAPPY.
Letting go and moving on made me realize that I can still find my happiness WITHOUT HIM. I used to yearn for his affection and I even pleaded for him to stay. Looking back, I realized I must’ve looked stupid crying and begging for something that is not even HALF of what I DESERVE.
I learned this from National Geographic Channel (yes I’m a National Geographic GEEK). I found it interesting and sort of wanted to share what i learned.

Many discontented women undergo plastic surgery to enhance physical aspects of their bodies. From cup A, they can jump to cup C with silicon implants and enhancements. In the Western part of the world, BIGGER IS BETTER. In pursuit of a better body, they are willing to undergo painful surgeries just to look good.
On the other side of the world, natives modify their bodies differently according to their culture. In Bafut,
Some people may find it taboo. Where did these mothers get the strength to hurt their own daughters? How did these young girls, barely their teenage years endure the painful process of breast ironing?

Myth # 1: The question in the upcoming referendum is “Do you still want student representation in the Board of Regents?”
Observation: The Student Regent herself, in a statement released last January 16, stated that the one and only question in the upcoming referendum will be: “Do you approve of the existing Codified Rules on Student Regent Selection (CRSRS) as rules and qualifications to govern the selection of our student regent to the UP Board of Regents?” [Yes] or [No]
Status: Busted.
Myth #2: The Office of the Student Regent will be abolished if the NO vote wins in the upcoming referendum.
Observation: The upcoming referendum may only have an effect on the rules that we use in selecting the Student Regent. In no way may a vote of NO by us in the referendum abolish the said office – a position created by law and which may only be abolished by a subsequent law.
Status: Busted.
Myth #3: The students will never have a CRSRS (Codified Rules on Student Regent Selection) if the NO vote wins.
Observation: The UP Charter (sec. 12 [1.g.]) specifically states that the Student Regent shall be chosen by the students in accordance with the rules and qualifications approved in a referendum by the students. Nothing in the law states that a vote of NO will bar any rules for selecting the SR from being set. A NO vote is a edict by the students that they reject the old CRSRS as the rules in selecting the SR, and therefore is a command that a new one must be proposed before them for their approval.
Status: Busted.
Myth #4: There will no longer be any Student Regent if the NO vote wins.
Observation: We again look at the law. The UP Charter (sec. 12 [1]) states that the Board of Regents shall be composed of, among others, one Student Regent. By law (Lecaroz v. Sandiganbayan) a public officer is entitled to stay in office until his (or her) successor is chosen and has qualified. In other words, the current Student Regent may temporarily hold over her position until her successor is selected through a legitimate set of rules.
Status: Busted.

Oh yes.. Nakakakuha na ako ng copy ng sample exam in Physics 73. Ibinalik na din sa wakas ung sample exam na tinangay nung isang student. Nakonsensya ata.

INCIDENT ONE:
I got to my 9am class 30 minutes late, but someone else got in later than me.
9:40am (the girl came in the classroom) There were two girls beside me talking.
GIRL1: Pag nalalate na ko, di na ako pumapasok. Para kasing nababastos ung prof nun.
Huwaw ate. Natamaan ako dun. Aray.
Ever since I’ve been a college student, i’ve been pestering my parents to teach me how to drive a car. Now at twenty, i feel they should be obliged to educate me on driving.
I want a car. I asked them to buy me one (kahit second hand lang) for my birthday but being the strict and irrational human beings that they are, disagreed with my whims.
If only i could afford to buy myself a car, i would definitely have it insured. Some insurance companies offer affordable and reliable auto insurance quotes. So if ever my car gets into an accident or something, i really don’t have to shell out a big amount of money to have it fixed.
I recently got addicted with making scrapbooks.
I found (again) the artistic part of me that hibernated since I got busy with schoolwork. Putting up together colorful papers, pictures and designing pages is relaxing. It is my way of expressing myself without any inhibitions. Despite the hectic schedule, schoolworks, exams and family responsibility I try to juggle, i still try to find the extra time to alot in my scrapbook-ing. I already bought art materials like colored papers, rubber stamp, punchers and a lot more that makes scrapbook-ing more fun.
I haven’t tried calling a toll free number before so I don’t have any idea how it works.
I used my google-fu abilities to know what’s so special with these toll free numbers.
According to the ever-reliable Wikipedia, a toll-free number or 800 is a special telephone number wherein the called party is charged for the costs by the telephone carrier instead of the calling party. Costs are based on factors such as the amount of usage, cost of the trunk lines to the facility and/or monthly services fee.
Whoever thought of it sure is brilliant.

Some agencies collect debts even up to the extent of using threats if the debtor is unable to pay. The Fair Debt Collection Practice Act protects the debtors from harassment made by agencies. Threats such as physical violence should not be used by collectors when collecting debts.
Wholesale insurance can provide insurance products to retail insurance agents and brokers. The provider will make use of insurers who can consider accounts that a retail agent cannot place with the standard markets. They are the ones who specialize in hard to place insurance. They make policies that make it possible for people who find it hard to have an insurance for whatever reason. Life insurance rates from wholesale insurance are low cost, affordable and easy to acquire.

I’ve been to lazy to go online these past few days. Schoolworks are piling up and I have two exams next week. I really don’t have the spare time and energy to blog.
Anyway, I’ve decide to summarize everything that happened since last Sunday — since Sunday is a weekend and nothing interesting happened (except that I bought chocolate cake for my sister and I ATE half of it), I’ll skip Sunday and proceed to Monday.
Last Monday was my sister’s 21st birthday. I bought the cake during the weekends (the store where I bought it from is in QC and YOGI went with me there) and gave it to her as an early birthday gift. I didn’t have the chance to spend the day with my family since I have to leave early for my 9am class.
Nothing particularly special happened yesterday and today. I don’t have much too share and you’ll be bored to death if I tell you what happened to me in class. Anyway, as soon as I finish with my exams and schoolwork, I’d give more time to blogging.
Barcode scanners are elctronic devices used for reading printed barcodes. It makes lines in gorcery stores shorter, and inventories easier. It consists of a light source, lens and a light sensor that translates optical impulses into electrical ones.
There are different types of barcode readers:
PEN-TYPE READERS: - this requires the operator to swipe the pen over the code
SEMI-AUTOMATIC HANDHELD READERS:
- must position the reader near the label
FIX - MOUNT READERS FOR AUTOMATIC READING: the reading is done by passing the label over the reader. No operator is required but the label must coincide with the reader.
READER GATES FOR AUTOMATIC SCANNING:
- the position of the code must be under the gate for a short time so the scanner can sweep and capture the code targert successfully.
I’m sports fanatic but I am not really a fan of basketball. I don’t know what’s fun and interesting in blocking and bumping with each other’s sweaty body. I am not an avid fan of the NBA or the PBA. You won’t get anything from me if you ask me about the current standing of the teams during the play-offs.
At 5’7 ½, people tell me that I should consider playing volleyball or basketball. I play volleyball but you can’t force me to play basketball.
When I entered the University and became friends with UAAP fanatics, I finally had the chance to watch a live basketball game. There came I time that I watched almost all of the games during the season. I became one of those people who cheer for their teams. Well, there’s not really much to cheer for our school’s basketball team. We never get to the final four nor win many games. I lost my interest again and watched the games on the television when I have the time.
The last time our school became champion in basketball was during Benjie Paras’ college years — and that’s more than a decade ago. I’m wishing that someday, our team will be the one to take home the trophy and have it displayed among the shelf of the few (yet something to be proud of) basketball trophies the school has won.I hope that day comes before I graduate.

My professor in my Chemistry17 laboratory said her farewell this afternoon. She resigned from her job and her resignation will take effect 2 days from now. She told us how she’s saddened from leaving. Being too emotional, she wasn’t able to discuss and just wrote everything on the board.
She really didn’t say the reason for her sudden decision to resign. I learned from my professor in the lecture that sometimes, we need to assume in order to solve the problem. So these are the assumptions me and my classmates have come up with:
- she passed her board exam and was offered a good job
- she was accepted to a university abroad
- family problems
- she’s pregnant
Anyway, she is one of the best professors I had so far. I learned a lot from her even if we only had her for a month and a half. I hope that the person who would replace her will be as great as or even greater than her.
A work holding device is something used to secure a work piece of a machine. It comes in different types, ranging from a simple clamp screwed into place of a machining table, to a complex fixture that is built and designed for particular parts. It may also include vises and chucks, allowing the part of the machine to be rotated and reach various parts without having to change its position while in use.
