Two More Months

I haven’t blogged in a while and you can blame that on my busy schedule on acads and work. I actually lost the drive to do anything for the past few months but it is a good thing I was able to deal with the depression that has been taking over me. 

Anyway, there really isn’t much to say now because first, i cut two classes today to finish work and a lab report due later. Hehe. 

Two more months til I graduate and there are no words that could describe my excitement. But before that, can anyone please tell me what an english horse tack is?

New Year’s Resolution? Not Exactly A New Thing

Only a few more days before new year comes, and I still haven’t come up with a New Year’s resolution yet. See, I always make a list before the year ends, believing that I’ll start the year right if I do. Unfortunately, I cannot do everything that’s on my list and in fact, I’ll be lucky enough if I accomplish just one from it. For example, I’d write ‘Learn about new medical equipment before the year ends’, but I’d procrastinate until the last minute or I’d totally forget about it.

Howell. Two more days and it’ll be 2012 already.

It’s that time of the year again, where we have an excuse to pig out and stuff ourselves not only with the delicious meal served for Noche Buena, but with family love as well. 

Christmas is also about forgiveness and making friends with enemies. As much as I would like to say that it’s the time to celebrate Jesus’ birth, we all know that December 25 is only chosen by the Church since it falls on Winter Solstice. I guess that won’t kill the Christmas Spirit, right?

 Anyhoo.

Holiday Christmas Shopping

Christmas is just around the corner (less than 24 hours as I write this blog post actually), and I am pretty sure that a lot of people are still doing their last minute Christmas shopping. With the hustle and bustle as everyone tries to get everything done before Christmas eve, there is the possibility of shoppers compromising their budgets jsut so they could finish the task at hand. 

This shouldn’t be the case however, since many stores and brands offer discount coupons especially for the holidays. If you want to save money and still make sure that what you will give is an awesome gift,you can use your bath & body works coupons. Or you can use it for yourself too to get that strawberry scented lotion you’ve always had your eyes on.

Best Lantern Parade Evah

Lunch with the sisters

I must say that this year’s the best Lantern Parade i have had as a student. Watched it with my sisters, brods and Tau Alpha friends. Although my psycho ex was there and my recent ex too, it never got into the way of me enjoying the parade. There were free booze at the Tau Alpha corner (which were bitin btw) and hanging out with them was one of the highlights of the evening. 

Went to the SR Residents’ Christmas Party after seven bottles. Stayed there for less an hour lang. 

Now I have one goal: Make my last sem in UP the best one. I may be emotionally stressed, but I’ll make sure that it won’t get into my way of happiness.

Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire

I haven’t read a decent book in a while (except for reference books for academic purposes) and I can’t recall the last time I sat down and relaxed with a book in hand. 

Before going home yesterday, I decided to drop by the Moonleaf Tea Shop in Maginhawa to buy my favorite milk tea concoction, Wintermelon Milk Tea with pearls. At 85php, you are sure to get your money’s worth. Anyway, since I was in no hurry to go home yet since it’s a bit early and I can’t stand walking under the intense heat of the sun, i sat down in one of the tables outside the tea shop and took out my current reading: Meg Cabot’s Pants on Fire.

So I was thinking about wedding bands for men, and why not a lot of designs are available for them to choose. Women on the other hand, have a wide array of wedding ring designs to choose from, often making it hard for them to make up their minds.

In.Your.Face.Thesis

I am just soooo happy that I’m finally finished with my thesis, that I just had to make a blog post to express it. 

YES! I’m done with thesis! I’m now having that In.Your.Face.Thesis. feeling where I feel triumphant and at the same time, at the brink of tears because I am just soooo relieved that it’s finally over. I have compromised a lot for that 43-page manuscript and trust me. It’s no fun giving up your social life for something that you are required to finish.

 Sembreak is almost within my reach. Just a few more exams plus SPP report, and I am finally free to watch all the series that I want. oooor. I could shop for dead sea products? Whacha think? 

10 Canine Commandments

I am a dog lover and the thought of other people neglecting their pets is simply breaking my heart. If you want a pet, please make sure that you have enough time on your hands to actually take care of him. Having one is a big responsibility and if you think you can’t handle it, better forget getting your own dog. 

One reason why I don’t have a dog of my own right now is that I seldom go home and spend most of my week in Quezon City. No one’s gonna take care of him when I’m gone, so better wait til I graduate before i get my own dog, right? 

 Anyway, a lot of people should learn how to take care of their pets. So before deciding on getting a dog of your own, better read the 10 Canine Commandments first.

Thesis It! No kidding.

Finally. Done with thesis defense.After months of grueling runs and sleepless nights worrying on results and requirements, I’ve finally finished one of the major requirements needed for graduation. And have i mentioned that I already have ‘Graduating’ as my status in CRS? Yey! Just a few more months til I can march the halls of Engg as a graduate. After that, i need to pass the board exam to be a full pledged licensed Engineer.

Insecurity Wins Again

Can I just say that Anne Curtis is effin’ hot in this month’s Rogue Magazine cover? Like seriously. She’s really thin now and she’s proven her point of being model thin in the numerous bikini scenes in her most recent movie, No Other Woman. 

If you’ve already watched the movie and seen her hot bod, I bet you’re just like me who’s wishing to achieve a body like hers (well, if you’re a girl). On the other hand, I bet guys will be dreaming about her for nights! 

Girls like her are the reason why I want to go back to being anorexic. It’s really hard maintaining weight, you know. Or, I could always seek the help of a certified nutritionist. Hmmm. My cellulaires (yes. I feel like being French tonight) can be of help, I think.

Stranded

Been here in Masbate for 12 days now. Flight got cancelled yesterday due to the bad weather, and I am stranded here on site waiting for my flight to be rebooked. Anyway, the admin got me a flight from Legazpi to Manila tomorrow morning, at 7:25. Too early. I know. This means I have to wake up extra early since Lady J will leave the CoastWay at 4 in the morning.

Anyway. It has been a tiring one and a half week for me. I’ve done nothing but finished all the runs for my thesis and trust me, handling the pressure filter by yourself and filtering 9 bottles at the same time is no easy task. It’s a good thing the company’s Club House offers beer at only 20php which means I get to relax after a stressful day in the lab. The people here are nice too. Almost everyone knows me by my name and they are also very entertaining, which makes my stay here really worthwhile.

Too bad I have academic responsibilities back at home that’s why I can’t stay here long. I’m planning to apply here when I graduate, but I highly doubt they’ll be hiring me. Haha.

Masbate Part 2

14 hours ’til my flight to Masbate. I’ll be returning there but this time, I will go there as a site visitor for my thesis. Yes, For my thesis. Instead of doing it here in UP as originally planned, I made the desperate move of asking that Sam and I be allowed working in their laboratory for our thesis. Lack of equipment, unsanitary working environment, mosquitoes, that’s just some of the problems in our lab.

Fortunately, our request was granted and we will be working there for over a week. Sam however, will leave on teh 19th, so I’m left alone to finish eveyrthing. Anyway, I got everything figured out already so hopefully, all will go well.

Gaaaah! I need to finish packing so i could sleep early. Our flight’s at 5:50am tomorrow. So I need to be at the airport 2 hours before our flight. Anyway, I think this will be easier than last summer since I won’t be bringing much with me. So kia soul custom floor mats, you just have to wait for now.

Cheetos, anyone?

I think I’ve been too stressed for the past few weeks and I think it’s making me crave for salty foods such as Cheetos. Lost my appetite as well, but I don’t get it why I seem to be gaining weight and fats around the tummy and pelvic area. Deyum. Too much school work, thesis and article writing leaves me with no time to exercise. Sa bagay, whenever I plan to jog in the afternoon, the weather would turn against me and it would rain non-stop. If this continues, I might need to enrol myself in personal trainer certification programs just so I could do other forms of exercises aside from jogging.

Another quick blog post since I’m already late for my first class.

Been sick for the past few days and I missed my exam last night since I still wasn’t feeling well. I decided to visit the doctor the other day and she adviced that I submit my stool sample for fecalysis so that we’ll know the reason behind my one week on-off case of diarrhea. She told me there are three possible causes of it: dengue (which I crossed out since I haven’t been experiencing fever naman. Well, except for two Saturdays ago before my diarrhea started), it must be because of something I ate, or that I’m too stressed and my body is reacting that way to fight it off. She also told me to stop taking Loperamide since diarrhea is the body’s defense mechanism against bacteria, and this is also the reason why I asked her to make me a medical certificate for my exam. 

Anyway… I think it must be stress. I read somewhere that the reason why a person craves for salty food is due to stress and for the past few days, I’ve noticed I lost appetite and all i’m craving for are salty foods.
